Alison McGovern MP – representing Wirral South and a former supporter of Liz Kendall’s leadership bid who declined the post of Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury in Jeremy Corbyn’s first Cabinet

Michael White – associate editor of The Guardian and has been writing for the paper for more than 30 years, as a reporter, foreign correspondent and columnist

Afshin Rattansi – broadcaster at RT, former producer at the BBC and recipient of Sony award for outstanding contribution to international journalism

Joana Ramiro – social affairs correspondent at the Morning Star, contributor to VICE and founding member of the National Campaign Against Fees and Cuts

Ivan Massow will be speaking exclusively to the York Union on Thursday 12th November. Massow will be interviewed on his rags to riches story, business success, gay rights campaigning, media work and a recent foray into Tory politics.
Big player in the trade union and Labour movement, Len McCluskey, will be making his appearance at the York Union on Thursday 19th November. McCluskey is the General Secretary of Unite, the largest trade union in the UK and Ireland. The Conservative Party notably characterised him as the 'Union paymaster' to discredit Ed Miliband's leadership.
